Dub WheelsThe PimpStar is a huge leap forward in the evolution of the wheel. With the PimpStar’s built-in full color LED lights, microprocessor and wireless modem, you can display virtually any image, including text, graphics, logos, and even digital photos! The included software allows you to create your own images and send them to each wheel individually or all wheels at the same time as you drive! Man kann sich dazu ein Flash-Video ansehen, dauert nur sehr lange, bis es geladen ist. Es ist tatsächlich so, daß man während der Fahrt eigens kreierte Fotos/Animationen sehen kann. OK, ich gehe davon aus, daß wohl der Deutsche TÜV das nie durchgehen lassen wird. USA halt. Wäre in D 100% ein Riesenschlager bei den vielen Autonarren. Allerdings wird sich das auf sehr betuchte Autonarren beschränken, theoretisch, praktisch gesehen kosten diese Felgen nämlich zwischen 12.000-19.000 USD, nur 🙂

In Deutschland heißt es bei MTV ja nicht „Pimp my ride“ sondern „Pimp my Fahrrad“. Analog dazu gibt es zum PimpStar das schöne MAKE Projekt SpokePOV von Lady Ada zum Selbermachen. Der Effekt ist der gleiche, allerdings kostet es pro Rad nur 50 USD.
@georg: Wow, das ist mal ein Unterschied. All inkl. 46$ zu 12k$ bis 20k$ für die Felgen.
